Ovannisyan’s supporters organized an action of protest against the results of the election

Today Leader of “Nasledie” party Raffi Ovannisyan announced holding an authorized meeting against the results of presidential election in Armenia on February, 20.

Raffi Ovannisyan himself called today’s gathering in the square a press conference. He declared the results of election published by Central Election Committee invalid and forged. He also disagreed with the international observers’ statement of the election being transparent.

According to Ovannisyan, he has yet taken no decision of appealing to judicial authorities protesting against the results of the election but will take this decision one of these days. He also informed that he submitted a request to the police of Armenia to secure guard for his family.

From today on police units will secure guard of Raffi Ovannisyan’s house round the clock which the police confirmed to the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent.

After gathering in “Svoboda” square about one hundred Ovannisyan’s supporters started for the building of CEC. The action was organized in form of a symbolic requiem. The participants laid a wreath with a mourning ribbon and an inscription “Death of unborn democracy” in front of the building of CEC of Armenia, Еpress.am reports.
