Picketers in Vladikavkaz: authorities render no help in fighting against "Electrozink"

Today in Vladikavkaz, another picket against the operation of the OJSC "Electrozink" was held. According to the organizers and participants of the action, no action against violations in the work of the factory is taken.

About 20 people came to Victory Square to take part in the action. For the first time, the so-called "people's militiamen" were engaged in maintaining the public order and helping the police.

So far, no results are seen from the efforts of the republic's government, the Public Chamber and the "Electrozink" towards changing the ecological situation in the city, said Atsamaz Khadikov, the organizer of the picket.

"On December 21, 2012, at the sitting of the Public Chamber, its chair Sergey Semak said that the Public Chamber cannot stop factories; however, can't they help us with documents, or recommend whom to contact, or initiate letters to the Ministries of Industry and Ecology, to the Russian government, and president?" asked Khadikov.
