Volgograd: court session on suspension of rubberoid factory scheduled for July 5

In the village of Dar-Gora, Voroshilov District of Volgograd, activists of the territorial self-government (known as TOS) "Divnogorsky" opened – jointly with state officials and ecologists – a shop, which manufactured rubberoid and emitted acrid smoke that disturbed local residents.

They found inside some production equipment, rubberoid, and in the other rooms – beds for workers and places for eating.

"The building, where they make rubberoid is an architectural value of the city. We're fighting for clean air since 2005; they especially poison us at nights. My granddaughter has frequent nose bleeding at night; and the house is full of fumes. We assumed that the entrepreneur is making rubberoid, but could not find the shop until June 13,"- said Alla Schegolkova, who is living within 100 meters away from the production facility.

According to her story, when they opened the door into the premise, they saw a huge pipe directed to the exit, and a huge hot tank. "Another tank full of some oil products was close to it. The shop was full of rubberoid rolls," said the woman.

Let us note here that earlier Sergey Bystrov, the manager of the facility, categorically stated that nobody was making rubberoid in his territory.

The Volga Environmental Prosecutor's Office has demanded through the court to suspend the production; the session is scheduled for July 5 and will be held in the Volzhskiy City Court.
