Dead regular soldier found in Armenia

Vardan Avakyan, 22, a conscript of the Armed Forces of Armenia, was found dead, said the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Armenia.

According to preliminary data of the MoD, private Avakyan, born in 1990, shot himself from a submachine gun in the evening on January 31.

Avakyan was found in the armoury room of one of the military units of the country; the number of the unit is not reported, the "News-Armenia" writes with reference to the MoD.

This is the fourth death of a servicemen in Armenia in January.

Thus, on January 26, a regular soldier, Junior Sergeant Yuri Gareginyan, while on a combat position, shot dead from a submachine gun his fellow soldier Senior Sergeant Artak Galstyan. The MoD said that the incident was under investigation, the "Epress.am" reports.
