The witness on the case of Budanov’s murder provided with state defence

Alexander Evtukhov, witness on the case of ex-colonel Yuri Budanov’s murder, was provided with state defence, official representative of Committee of Inquiry (CI) of the Russian Federation Vladimir Markin informed.

Earlier, the “Caucasian Knot” reported that on January, 18, the defense of Yusup Temerkhanov, defendant on the case of Yuri Budanov’s murder, accused secret services of witness Alexander Evtukhov’s kidnapping. However, Evtukhov himself denied the information of his disappearance.

“The attorneys’ statements of Evtukhov’s allegedly being kidnapped and bringing pressure on him by the prosecution party are untrue for Evtukhov himself said that he changed his phone number in order not to have contacts with the lawyers”, RIA “Novosti” quotes Vladimir Markin.

According to the representative of CI, a criminal case was initiated against lawyer Darya Trenina for suspicion of bribing the witness.

According to the investigation’s version, Darya Trenina contacted witness Alexander Evtukhov on the phone suggesting to meet and discuss his evidence in court, “Interfax” reports.

“Trenina suggested Evtukhov while giving evidence at the trial to state with confidence that the killer was fair-haired. For this evidence Trenina offered to pay Evtukhov’s flight to Moscow and back and 100 thousand rubles in addition”, Markin said.

Darya Trenina herself considers such a pace of developments an attempt to discredit Temerkhanov’s defense.

“The point of Evtukhov’s evidence is description of the murderer as a fair-haired man. Evtukhov earlier gave this evidence in June and July of 2011 describing the murderer with confidence which was protocolled. I am accused of bribing the witness while he gave this evidence during preliminary investigation”, lawyer Darya Trenina said to the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent.
