During trial on the case of Budanov’s murder witness Evtukhov did not identify the defendant as murderer

Colonel Yuri Budanov’s murderer had a Slavic appearance, Alexander Evtukhov whom the defendant’s attorney considers the “key witness” on the case evidenced in Moscow city court today. Evtukhov declared that he had never seen the defendant.

The witness also stated that he saw defendant Yusup Temerkhanov for the first time. He neither denied nor confirmed the information of being kidnapped by secret services earlier mentioned in court by the defendant’s defense.

Meanwhile, Public Prosecutor’s office exposed Evtukhov’s receiving one hundred thousand roubles from the defendant’s attorneys. The witness confirmed in court that “lawyer Daria Trenina transferred 100 thousand roubles to his banking card on his trip to the court”.

Lawyer Murad Musaev confirmed compensation of “the witnesses’ expenses for coming to court, not payment for their evidence”.

After the end of the session Evtukhov submitted two statements to judge of Moscow city court Andrey Korotkov: about receiving threats from Musaev and Trenina’s suggestion to evidence in court that the colonel’s supposed murder who was running away from the scene of the crime was fair-haired.  

Musaev called it a “downright lie”.
