Dagestani journalists report increasing number of detainees in Said Amirov's case

The number of detainees in the case of an ordered killing of the investigator Arsen Gadjibekov, within which the Mayor of Makhachkala Said Amirov was also detained, has reached 14 persons, said Mairbek Agaev, an observer of the Dagestani newspaper "Chernovik". According to Milrad Fatullaev, the editor-in-chief of the "Nastoyaschee Vremya" (Present Time), people from Amirov's retinue may be among the detainees.

On June 1, a law enforcement source said that Sirazhudin Guchuchaliev, who was detained on May 1 during a special operation in the village of Leninkent near Makhachkala, and who was treated by the Dagestani MIA as the leader of the 'Makhachkala militant grouping', "revealed Amirov and reported about his links with him." Amirov himself, who was arrested by the Basmanny Court of Moscow, refuses to plead guilty and insists that his case was fabricated.

According to Alexander Bastrykin, the head of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), another Guchuchaliev's accomplice was detained. "According to some reports, he is actively cooperating with the investigation," said the Dagestani journalist, noting that the detainee's name was not specified.

Let us remind you that on June 14 the Basmanny Court of Moscow temporarily removed – at the request of the investigation – Said Amirov from the post of the Mayor of Makhachkala and appointed him a resignation allowance of five minimum salaries.
