Dagestan: relatives of resident of Yuzhno-Sukhokumsk report his illegal detention

In the evening on June 5, Bagaudin Magomedov, a resident of Yuzhno-Sukhokumsk, was detained by employees of the GOVD (City Interior Division) and charged with illegal possession of explosives and firearms, said his relative Rasul Magomedov.

Rasul told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the substances and grenades found at Bagaudin's summer cottage during a search had been planted on him.

According to Rasul, now Bagaudin Magomedov is kept in the GOVD building. The detainee has two minor children and is jobless.

Bagaudin Magomedov is registered in the local police as a follower of Wahhabism; but earlier the law enforcement officials were not interested in him, said the relative.

An employee of the on duty unit of the GOVD of Yuzhno-Sukhokumsk did not confirm to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent the information about the detention of Bagaudin Magomedov. According to his story, the on duty unit knew nothing about Bagaudin Magomedov's registration at the police and detention.

The "Caucasian Knot" is monitoring the situation in Dagestan and runs the chronicle of armed incidents and kidnappings.
