Kotiev: Mutaliev's body identified in Nazran by attributes from search data
This morning, in the municipality of Gamurzievo in the city of Nazran, power agents have blocked a house, where, according to their version, members of the armed underground were hiding, who opened fire in response to an offer to surrender. As a result of an armed clash two persons were killed – a wanted leader of Ingush militants Djamalele Mutaliev and a suspect of aiding militants Alikhan Ozdoev.
Mutaliev was identified by the photos and attributes disseminated for the search, Akhmed Kotiev, Secretary of the Security Council of Ingushetia, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. For the time of the special operation, Nazran was under the counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime, which is now cancelled.
According to Kotiev, the police chief had repeatedly offered on the phone to the people, blocked in the house, to give up. "Ozdoev promised to think over the offer, but then hung up. Only his wife with a baby came out of the house," he said.
He also added that the inspection of the scene of the incident is completely over; and the dead bodies were brought to the morgue.
None of the policemen was hurt during the special operation, said Kotiev.
On October 29, 2012, the head of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Evkurov called Mutaliev the organizer of the explosion at the traffic police post on the administrative border of North Ossetia and Ingushetia on October 23. The death of Mutaliev was reported by power agents back in January 2012. However, according to the newspaper "Kommersant", a few days after the operation in Ekazhevo it became clear that he was alive.
According to information of power agents, announced in May 2011 by Yunus-Bek Evkurov in his joint interview to the "Caucasian Knot" and "Gazeta.ru", in June 2010, after detention of Ali Taziev, also known under the nickname of "Magas", the 35-year-old Mutaliev was appointed to be the military Amir of "Imarat Kavkaz" in the republic.
