At gathering, Anapa residents urge authorities to stop construction on temple land
Today, in Anapa, at the administration of the resort city, a gathering of citizens was held. They expressed their indignation about illegal construction in the territory of the temple complex located in Lenin Street. The gathering was attended by members of the Coordinating Council of Anapa.
This morning, the regular meeting of the Coordinating Council of Anapa, including a number of social organizations of the city, among the other main issues, has discussed the construction which is underway in No. 154 in Lenin Street, near the site of the construction of the temple complex. This was reported by Valery Kostenetsky, Secretary of the Coordinating Council.
"Next to the territory in which, according to the plan, the temple complex is to be built and where the church has already been built, the illegal construction of a commercial facility is underway," Valery Kostenetsky said in his interview to the "Caucasian Knot".
According to his story, the permit for construction of a store at that place has been yet illegally issued under the previous administration leader of the resort city; however, the validity of the construction permit had expired on March 15.
"However, here, starting from some time, a shopping complex in the form of pavilions is under construction, and about 10-15 of such trade stalls have been already built. This is a violation of the general plan of the city, which, though not yet adopted, already contains corrections, and those trade stalls have not been included there. We treat this fact as a corruption component of the project," Valery Kostenetsky has emphasizes.
Besides, according to his story, next to the church, in a green area, the construction of a multi-storey building is also underway, and, as a result, trees have been cut down illegally.
The gathering at the city administration was attended by about 20-30 persons.
Alexei Mandrigelya, an activist from Krasnodar, who was present at the place of events, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the gathering at the administration of Anapa was attended by representatives of the local community and the Cossacks.
"People were not allowed to meet the authorities, and after an hour spent at the Mayoralty, many people began to leave the place. However, after a while, a representative of the administration came out to the people and said that on Tuesday (May 21), they are invited to meet Ms Yarovaya, Deputy Mayor," Alexei Mandrigelya says.
