Russia's MFA demand from Sweden to ban the website "Kavkaz-Centre"

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of the Russian demands from Sweden to ban the operation of the Sweden-based website "Kavkaz-Centre" and states that the extremist organization "Hizb ut-Tahrir" operates in this country.

On September 12, 2012, the Nikulino District Court in Moscow found the website "Kavkaz-Centre" and its "mirrors" to be extremist. The court established that articles containing calls for extremist activities had been posted on the website is in the public domain.

"The fact that since summer this year the broadcasting of the website is carried out from outside Sweden, as they claim in Stockholm, does not cancel the international legal obligations of Sweden to legally ban the activities of 'Kavkaz-Centre' in its territory," said a statement posted on the official website of the Russia's MFA.

Also, the MFA states the activities in Sweden of the organization "Hizb ut-Tahrir", which is on the list of organizations, for which there is information about their involvement in extremist activities or terrorism, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
