Bilkhis Dudaeva: my questions to Putin were neutral

The questions asked on behalf of the newspaper "Kadyrov's Way" at a press conference of Vladimir Putin had been carefully thought over and were purely neutral; while the decision to close the newspaper was, most likely, caused by journalists' mockeries over the name of the paper, said Bilkhis Dudaeva, the editor-in-chief of the now closed edition.

The Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov found the journalist's question "provocative" and not related directly to Chechnya. Besides, he said that the start of the newspaper, named after his father, was not agreed upon. Yet, it is known that the newspaper "Kadyrov's Way" was published with the consent of the authorities of Chechnya.

Dudaeva learned about Ramzan Kadyrov's reaction to her questions from his colleagues while she was on the train. "I think that this emotional reaction of our leader could be caused by reporters' ridiculous remarks that followed after I named the newspaper where I work," Bilkhis Dudaeva told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

She asserts that her questions "in no case were intended to offend anyone." She noted that she was returning to Grozny after the press conference with a feeling of some anxiety.
