Dagestani residents Makhach Gamzatov and Zaurbek Ashurov arrested for two months

Today, the Soviet District Court of Makhachkala arrested for two months Makhach Gamzatov and Zaurbek Ashurov, residents Buynaksk. Both detainees are charged of aiding and abetting illegal armed formations (IAFs). This was reported by Gadjimurad Gamzatov, the brother of one of the detainees.

According to Gadjimurad Gamzatov's story, he managed to see his brother through the open door, and he noticed that his brother got "his face swollen from beating and bruises." Besides, the arrested man was wearing sunglasses, Gadjimurad Gamzatov has added.

The Gamzatov's brother and his wife Limara claim that Makhach has not been involved in anything illegal and that he is a supporter of Salafism. The brother of Zaurbek Ashaurov has reported that Zaurbek is a strictly practicing Muslim and that he is not registered at the police station.

Murad Magomedov, the advocate of Makhach Gamzatov, has acknowledged to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent the information about the signs of violence on his client's body.

The advocate has also said that the investigators' motion about arrest of Zaurbek Ashurov and Makhach Gamzatov contains no specific information about the alleged episodes of aiding and abetting.

"They face charges that they allegedly 'gave something to someone', without any specific information. The investigator asked to keep the detainees in custody, taken into account the aggravating circumstances their alleged adherence to radical Islam and participation in rallies. The investigator did not explain what rallies he had mentioned," the advocate of Makhach Gamzatov said.

According to Murad Magomedov's story, tomorrow, he plans to file a motion to carry out the medical examination of his client to the investigatory authorities.
