Beslan opens memorial plate in memory of policeman perished at "Chermen" checkpoint

In Beslan, the school No. 6, where Zaur Djibilov, the inspector of the GBDD (road traffic police), who perished at the "Chermen" checkpoint during the terror act committed in October 2012, held the solemn opening of the memorial plate in the form of a stone bas-relief on the wall in the hall.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at night on October 23, 2012, during the inspection of a passenger car, which drove up to the North-Ossetian "Chermen" checkpoint from the direction of Nazran, the driver of the passenger car activated an explosive device. As a result of the explosion, Junior Lieutenant Zaur Djibilov died in the place, and four of his colleagues, members of the daily duty, Vaso Basiev, Nana Latishvili, Evgeny Korneev, and Vadim Khoranov were injured. On November 9, 2012, Taimuraz Mamsurov, the leader of North Ossetia, introduced Zaur Djibilov to be awarded the title of Hero of Russia posthumously.

One of the central streets of Beslan and the school No. 6, where the policeman studied, were named after Zaur Djibilov. This was reported by the press service of the Beslan administration. The memorial plate was also installed on the wall of the house in Markov Street, where the policeman lived. A football tournament was organized in memory of Zaur Djibilov.

Kazbek Bekmurzov, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of North Ossetia, thanked the teachers for the education of Zaur Djibilov and assured that the policeman would be a shining example for all generations of the North Ossetian police.

Let us remind you that on February 23, a monument to Zaur Djibilov was opened in the yard of the road-and-patrol service regiment in the capital of North Ossetia. Earlier, on February 14-16, all schools of the republic held the lessons of courage in memory of Zaur Djibilov.
