Buinaksk residents report about three houses blown up by power agents

Today, employees of law enforcement bodies blew up three private houses belonging to suspects of having links with militants in the Dagestani city of Buinaksk, as local residents told the "Caucasian Knot". The local Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has confirmed only one explosion.

Around 11:00 a.m. Moscow time, policemen came to search the house of a local resident, a resident of Buinaksk told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent on conditions of anonymity.

"I don't know his surname, only the name - Zaur. During the search of the house they allegedly found a shell. The policemen decided that it was impossible to neutralize the shell, and blew it up in the yard of the house; as a result the building itself was destroyed," said the local.

According to his story, the owner of the house was detained and taken to the GOVD (City Interior Division).

According to another resident of Buinaksk, not one, but three explosions have been triggered today in the houses of the relatives of those suspected of having links with militants.

"Searches were conducted in houses located in different parts of Buinaksk. Under the pretext that explosive devices were allegedly found in the houses, power agents drove people out of the houses and then blew up the buildings. Thus, one house was blown up in Magomed Gadjiev Street, and two more - in a suburb of Buinaksk," a resident of Buinaksk named Arsen told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Today, only one explosion was triggered in Buinaksk - in Magomed Gadjiev Street, where an explosive device was found; sappers were not able to neutralize it and had to trigger it on the spot, an employee of the Buinaksk GOVD told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Since May 1, searches are conducted in Buinaksk in the houses of Salafite Muslims, said a spokeswoman from the Dagestani regional public organization (DRPO) "Pravizaschita" (Advocacy).

"On May 1, father and son Abakarov were detained on the grounds that they were allegedly necessary for some investigatory actions. On May 2, two women - the mothers of Murad Mamaev and Khan Karanaev - were brought to the Investigatory Committee also for some inquiry. Later, they were released. On May 5, six persons were detained; father and son Shagabutdinov among them," a source from the DRPO "Pravizaschita" told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
