"Club of Young Politicians" condemns Georgian president for his attitude to Great Patriotic War

In Tbilisi, the "Club of Young Politicians" has held a rally to mark the Victory Day, where its members called to sue President Mikhail Saakashvili, who had belittled, according to the members of the Club, the importance of Georgia's participation in the struggle against fascism.

At the main entrance of the Tbilisi-based Victory Park, the protesters – a few dozens of people – attached posters and leaflets, which depicted, apart from the calls to sue Mikhail Saakashvili, Militon Kantariya, who hoisted the Victory Banner over the Reichstag, and the incumbent President of Georgia. The event was held under the slogan "He could not imagine that one day fascism will win in Georgia."

"Saakashvili is trying to destroy the memory of how the USSR and other countries were rescued from fascism and fails to respect the people who fought for the victory," said Georgy Mdivani, a member of the "Club of Young Politicians".

Mr Mdivani believes that Saakashvili should face trial in The Hague for his actions, in particular, for ordering to blow up the "Memorial of Fame" in the city of Kutaisi, the "News-Georgia" reports.

Young politicians plan to hold such actions in Tbilisi during the week, the "Medianews" writes."

So far, the President of Georgia or his representatives have made no comment on the action of the "Club of Young Politicians".
