In Astrakhan, fire occurred in house of evicted Porfiriev family

Last night, a fire occurred in the of Porfiriev family's house in dispute located in Amurskaya Street in Astrakhan. According to the opinion of Regina Porfirieva, the wife of the family head, the fire was caused by arson. Investigators are working in place, and the version of arson is not excluded, in turn, the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) in the Astrakhan Region reports.

The Porfiriev family with an infant is to be evicted from the house located in No. 14 in Amurskaya Street in accordance with the court decision. The lawsuit on the possession of the building has started with the decision of the local authorities to withdraw the land plot, on which the house is located, and it has been lasting for five years already. The Porfiriev family members said that they had nowhere to go in case of eviction, since the agreement on the conditions of withdrawal of the house between the Porfiriev family and the Astrakhan administration had never been concluded. On January 9, the court let the Porfiriev family members to stay in the house till the end of the heating season. On April 15, in connection with the completion of the heating season, the process of eviction of the Porfiriev family members was resumed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 16, the house of the Porfiriev family was twice visited by bailiffs and executors of justice. During the second visit, an official act has been composed, confirming that no things and the evicted persons were found in the house, where Regina Porfirieva with her granddaughter lives.

"At about 03:00 a.m., I was awakened by cough of the child, who was in the house, and I approached him," Regina Porfirieva told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to the woman's story, when she approached a cot, then she saw through the half-open shutter of the window that a corner of the house and the fence were on fire.

"We are all alive due to the fact that Yegor was awakened by smoke and noise of burning, and he started coughing and woke the adults. It was arson, and I have no doubt about that," Regina Porfirieva has stated.
