In Kabardino-Balkaria, during the last three months of 2012 at least 39 persons fell victim to the armed conflict: 25 of them perished and 14 more were wounded. These are the results of the calculations made by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.

The death toll includes four employees of law-enforcement bodies, 17 persons, involved, according to information of law-enforcement bodies, in the armed underground, and four civilians. The list of wounded persons includes nine power agents and five civilians.

In October, in the course of the conflict in Kabardino-Balkaria three persons suffered, including two casualties and one wounded person. However, in the months to follow, the number of victims went up abruptly: up to 19 victims in November (including nine killed and 10 wounded persons) and 17 - in December (13 casualties and four wounded persons).

The above statistics is unable to reflect, with a 100-percent precision, the number of victims under each of the categories specified in the report. Not all the data gets into news reports. It is not always possible to verify the truthfulness of the statements made by law-enforcement bodies.

In the first quarter of 2012, under the calculations of the "Caucasian Knot", in the KBR, at least 43 persons suffered, including 32 killed and at least 11 wounded persons.
