Offices of OJSC "Resorts of Northern Caucasus" are searches

Today, the offices of the Open Joint-Stock Company (OJSC) "Resorts of Northern Caucasus" are searched by employees of the chief department of economic security and counteracting corruption (known as GUEBiPK) of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) and the Investigatory Department of the above MIA within the criminal case opened against the former chairman of the board of directors Akhmed Bilalov and Director General Alexander Nevsky, reports the MIA.

The State Company "Resorts of Northern Caucasus " was organized in December 2010 to implement the project of a tourist-recreational cluster in Southern Russia, which is scheduled for completion in 2019. The project is a part of the strategy adopted for the development of Northern Caucasus till 2025. According to the project of the North-Caucasian tourist cluster, five ski resorts should be built in Southern Russia; the first of them are "Arkhyz" in Karachay-Cherkessia and "Mamison" in North Ossetia.

Let us remind you that on February 26 the Russian General Prosecutor's Office (GPO) began, together with the "Rosfinnadzor", the MIA and the FSB, a check of the targeted use of budgetary funds by the OJSC "Resorts of Northern Caucasus". On March 7, it was reported that the GPO had revealed violations and unreasonable expenses. A criminal case under the article on abuse of office was initiated against Akhmed Bilalov. Yesterday, on April 15, the Russian GPO sent the materials about embezzlement of funds at the OJSC "Resorts of Northern Caucasus", the authorized capital of which had been formed from the funds of the federal budget, to the Investigatory Department of the Russian MIA.

During the searches conducted in the offices of the company, agents confiscate draft records, information on electronic carriers, other items and documents relevant to the case. In total, 50 police officers are involved, says the website of the Russian MIA.
