Officer killed in Karabakh conflict zone

Shakhriyar Bahramgulu oglu Mamedov, a lieutenant of the Azerbaijani Army, was killed on April 8 in the contact line of Armenian and Azerbaijani troops, said the spokesman of the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Azerbaijan.

The officer Shakhriyar Bahramgulu Mamedov died as a result of a gunshot wound, the "Apa.az" reports with reference to a source from the MoD of Azerbaijan.

However, Senor Asratyan, the spokesman for the MoD of Nagorno-Karabakh, has refuted the reports that the Azerbaijani officer was killed by fire from the Armenian side. "This is another misinformation of Azerbaijan. The information does not correspond to reality," the "Aysor.am" quotes Senor Asratyan as saying.
