Anvar Guseinov's advocates present video to the court with his story about torture at Khasavyurt ROVD

On December 13, during a session of the Khasavyurt District Court, which considers the case of Anvar Guseinov, the defence released a video in which the defendant tells about his torture at the local ROVD (District Interior Division).

Let us remind you that on July 20 masked men forcibly drove away Magomed Sulaev and Anvar Guseinov, when they were leaving a mosque. After their relatives addressed the local department of the Investigatory Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), it became known that Guseinov and Sulaev were kept at the Khasavyurt ROVD. On July 21, Sulaev was released without presenting any charges.

Guseinov was detained within the investigation of a criminal case on the fact of intentional destruction of other's property; he is suspected of illegal arms possession. Anvar Guseinov figures in the criminal case together with the inhabitants of the Khasavyurt District Sadrudin Arapkhanov and Eldar Dydymov, who are suspected of shelling the village store in Petrakovskoye, Khasavyurt District, on July 10, 2012.

The video presented to the court video was made at the SIZO (pre-trial prison) of Khasavyurt by the lawyer Sapiyat Magomedova on July 23, when she first visited her client. In the video Guseinov reports that he was beaten by ROVD employees.

Also, the court announced the protocol of confiscation, held on July 23, 2012. According to the investigation, the entrepreneur Izumutdin Magomedov gave investigators the cartridge sleeves discovered by him on the site of shelling his store on July 23, that is three days after detention of Guseinov, Dydymov and Arapkhanov.

However, according to the defence, earlier Izumutdin Magomedov had stated that the sleeves were detected by him not on July 23, but on July 10 – the day when his shop was shelled. According to the lawyer Magomedova, the confiscation protocol was falsified.
