An action with the demand to return direct mayor’s election passed off in Volgograd

A picket with the demand of nationwide mayor’s election was held near the building of the city Duma in Volgograd.

The action authorized by Mayor’s office was organized in form of a meeting of Deputy of regional Duma Nicolay Parshin with the electors, Olga Andrushenko, representative of regional committee of KPRF party, explained to the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent.

According to her, the action was held in front of the building of the city Duma in order to draw the deputies’ attention to an issue which they always put off.

About 50 people gathered at the meeting. The participants were holding posters: “We demand changes to the City Charter!”, “We demand nationwide mayor’s election!”, “Deputies, return a merited Mayor to the city!”, “Mayor of the city must be popularly elected!”.
