Moscow: at trial on murder of Colonel Budanov his driver testifies

At the trial on the murder of former Colonel Yuri Budanov, who was shot dead on June 10, 2011, conducted by the Moscow City Court, three witnesses have testified, including the driver who brought Budanov to the notary office.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Yusuf Temerkhanov, a native of Chechnya, is accused of the murder; and he confessed of the crime. According to investigators, Temerkhanov killed Budanov in revenge for his father, who had been executed by servicemen of Military Unit No. 73881. However, Yuri Budanov took his service at Military Unit No. 13206; and the defendant had never met him, Temerkhanov's advocates assert. According to their version, "Budanov was killed for Elsa Kungaeva"; since on charges of kidnapping and murdering the girl the former colonel was sentenced in 2003 to 10 years in prison, from where he was released under CER (conditional early relief) in 2009.

Today, Valery Seleznyov, the driver of the ex-colonel, described the route along which he brought Yuri Budanov from his working office in Kudrinskaya Square to Komsomolsk Avenue.

Also, the court has questioned the assistant notaries, where on the day of the murder Yuri Budanov, together with his wife Svetlana, executed documents for sending abroad their minor daughter Ekaterina. The witnesses have confirmed that they heard screams, ran into the yard of the office and saw Yuri Budanov lying on the pavement.
