Residents of Krymsk complain to Russia's PC about housing difficulties

Many victims of the flooding in Krymsk have not yet received new housing. This is stated in the today's report of the commission of the Public Chamber (PC) of the Russian Federation for social policy, labour relations and citizens' living standards.

As a result of the flooding on July 6-7 in the Krasnodar Territory, 165 persons perished. The Krymsk District was affected most; while the total damage of the flooding in the Krasnodar Territory made at least 20 million roubles.

After the flooding in Krymsk, the Russia's PC opened a telephone "hotline", where townspeople could call and tell their problems they face with obtaining housing or compensations. In particular, residents of Krymsk reported that because of bureaucratic protractions they have delays in receiving their monetary compensations.

In total, in the period from July 17 to November 30, the above PC's hotline received over 1600 appeals. This is also stated in the report "On the outcomes of the public monitoring over the process of rendering assistance to flood victims in the Krymsk District of the Krasnodar Territory".

In particular, townspeople complained about the problems with receiving compensations, money on making repairs, reception of housing, suspension of payments for lost transport means; as well as about refusals in documenting on housing construction instead of the ruined ones, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
