A broadcaster killed in Kabardino-Balkaria

In the evening of December, 5, an armed assault at broadcaster of STRC of KBR Kazbek Gekkiev took place, he died as a result.

According to preliminary data, Kazbek Gekkiev aged 28 was walking along Kirov street when an unidentified car stopped near him and two men came out.

“The criminals first talked to Gekkiev and then one of them took out a Makarov and opened fire”, a source in the police of Nalchik told the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent.

According to another version, they were shooting from a self-firer, RIA “Novosti” referring to a source in law enforcement bodies reports.

The journalist died from wounding before the physicians arrived.

An operational investigative group is currently working at the scene to find out the details of the accident. “Intercept” regime was enacted in the town.

In the evening TV program after which Kazbek Gekkiev was killed he reported murder of a woman healer from Baksan, the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent informs.
