In Dagestan, policeman injured in drivers' mass fight

In the evening of November 24, in the Magaramkent District of Dagestan, a conflict, involving at least 20 persons, occurred near the "Fazenda" cafe. Several persons were injured and two were killed in the conflict. Moreover, a policeman was among the victims of the conflict. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).

The "Caucasian Knot" reported that the incident with use of firearms occurred near the border checkpoint "Tagirkent-Kazmalyar" on the Russian-Azerbaijani border. According to preliminary information, the scandal involved local taxi drivers. Immediately after the conflict, two casualties and two wounded men were reported.

According to the regional MIA, the conflict, which took place on the 12th km of the road "Gaptsakh-Yalama", near the village of Khutum-Kazmalyar of the Magaramkent District of Dagestan, near the "Fazenda" cafe, was caused by the dispute about raising the fee from owners of vehicles, transporting passengers from the checkpoint "Tagirkent-Kazmalyar". The dispute escalated into a fight, and someone shot from firearm to people.

Two members of the conflict, born in 1986 and 1978, died from gunshot wounds. Three more persons, including a senior police lieutenant, who, being a district police inspector was at service, got gunshot wounds of varying severity.

Investigators seized from the place seized 21 cartridges of 7.62 mm calibre and 3 cartridges of 9 mm calibre from a traumatic pistol, the website of the Dagestani MIA reports.

The Magaramkent Inter-District Investigatory Division of the Investigatory Department of the Investigatory Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) in the Republic of Dagestan instituted a criminal case under elements of crime under Part 2 of Article 318 (use of violence dangerous to life or health against a power representative), Paragraph "a" of Part 2 of Article 105 (murder of two or more persons), Part 3 of Article 30, Paragraph "a" of Part 2 of Article 105 (attempt to kill two or more persons) and Part 1 of Article 222 (arms traffic).
