Derbent resident claims attempt of his kidnapping

On November 21, unidentified armed men tried to kidnap Alaudin Aslanov, a resident of Derbent. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by his mother Saniyat Aslanova, and this was also confirmed by Alaudin Aslanov himself.

In the evening of November 21, the SMS-service of the "Caucasian Knot" received a message, stating that in Derbent, unidentified men in masks tried to kidnap a young man. The message stated that the attackers hit the victim to his head and tried to force him in a car; however, the victim managed to break free and escape.

Today, the mother of the 24-year-old Alaudin Aslanov confirmed the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent the attempt of kidnapping.

"Yesterday afternoon, my acquaintance called me. She said that she had seen how in the presence of many witnesses and two policemen, five unidentified armed men in masks and black uniforms tried to kidnap my son. They repeatedly hit my son to his head with rifle butts and tried to force Alaudin in a Lada Priora gray car without state registration number plates. However, my son managed to break free from the hands of kidnappers and escape," Saniyat Aslanova said.

She has reported that Alaudin Aslanov did not come home at night. "I tried to phone him; however, his mobile phone was turned off, and he did not come home at night," the young man's mother has noted.

According to her, Alaudin is a strictly practicing Muslim, and he is not married. He worked as a salesman in the market, and he was not registered at the police station.

Saniyat Aslanova appealed for help to the Dagestan Regional Public Organization (DRPO) "Pravozaschita" (Advocacy). According to a representative of the organization, the victim himself also appealed to the human rights defenders, and he asked for help, since he feared further persecution.

In his appeal, Alaudin Aslanov wrote that he managed to escape from the attackers and that they still had his jacket with his passport. According to the victim, the kidnappers did not pursue him, entered their car and left the place, taking with his things with them.

The human rights defenders have also reported that Aslan was severely beaten and he got bruises and wounds on his head, inflicted by a rifle butt. "Alaudin fears for his life and health," stated the representative of the DRPO "Pravozaschita".
