Participants of the conflict among natives of Central Asia in Sochi will hardly be deported, law enforcement officers consider

There has been no deportation of the participants of a mass scuffle among builders of Olympic objects as of the moment. Criminal cases against the participants of the incident have not been referred to court yet, official representatives of the Department of Interior Affairs and the court reported.

We will remind that on November, 5, a mass domestic scuffle broke out among builders of Olympic objects in Sochi. As a result, 243 participants of the scuffle, among them 210 citizens of Uzbekistan and 33 citizens of Tajikistan were detained by the police and delivered to Adler magistrate’s court. Criminal cases according to clause “hooliganism with the use of arms” were initiated against five persons.

On November, 7, the Administration of Sochi informed that the managers of contracting organization decided to cancel contracts with those who participated in the conflict and deport them to the places of their permanent residence.

However none of the participants of the conflict has left as yet. ”This procedure will take time both for the bodies of authority and the employers who are obliged to provide the workers with tickets to return to their native countries”, Andrey Kovalenko said.

There may be no deportation, a representative of law enforcement bodies said in his interview to the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent. It is an expensive procedure and it is probable that the cases will never be investigated, he explained.

According to him, the conflict occurred for the reason that the contractor settled natives of Sukhandarya and Namangan regions of Uzbekistan very close to each other while there are traditionally complex and hostile relations between them, so the conflict became aggravated in the conditions when these people lived together practically in an isolated space.

While the police were suppressing the mass scuffle citizens of Tajikistan accidentally happened along. “The Tajiks were there by chance and were detained”, a representative of law enforcement bodies said adding that in the future “the employers must pay more attention to their workers’ problems and avoid creating conditions for conflicts”.
