In Moscow, court obliges investigators to institute criminal case on terror act on Dubrovka

Today, the Lefortovo Court of Moscow found to be unlawful the refusal of investigators to institute criminal proceedings against the officials, who led the operation to rescue hostages in the Dubrovka Theatrical Centre in 2002.

On October 15, the Investigatory Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) refused Igor Trunov, the representative of victims f the terror act, committed in 2002 on Dubrovka, in initiating criminal proceedings against the officials, who led the assault of the Theatrical Centre. Igor Trunov filed a complaint.

Yulia Skotnikova, the press secretary of the Court, has explained that in its decision, the Court stated: "To recognize unlawful and unjustified the actions, inactions of the investigator in failure to consider the complaint on initiating criminal case and sending the reply of August 30, 2012," the "ITAR-TASS" reports.

As a result, the complaint of Igor Trunov was granted, the "Interfax" reports.

"We won the case: the Court granted the complaint, found unlawful the refusal to institute criminal proceedings and obliged the investigator to eliminate the violation," the lawyer stated. According to him, if the Court's decision is not challenged, the investigator should eliminate the violation within ten days, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
