The Ministry of Education and Science acknowledged 11 institutions of higher education in North-Caucasian Federal okrug inefficient

11 institutions of higher education and 25 subsidiaries in North-Caucasian Federal okrug were put on the list of inefficient by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation from the point of view of their activities.

The list was drawn up based on the monitoring carried out by the Ministry from August, 15, till September, 15, and published on its web-site.

In Chechnya all the institutions were acknowledged inefficient, in Ingushetia the only institution (Ingush State University) and the only subsidiary (Federal State budget educational institution “Pyatigorsk State humanitarian and technological University” in Nazran), in Dagestan 4 educational institutions out of 15 and 14 subsidiaries out of 29 turned out inefficient.

North Ossetia was acknowledged one of the most efficient out of all the republics of Northern Caucasus from the point of view of education: there are no inefficient educational institutions in the republic though the only subsidiary was acknowledged inefficient.

The Ministry estimated the activities of educational institutions by five parameters: average grade at the Unified State Exam among the students of budget and paid sectors; the number of studies per one research scholar; per cent of foreign graduates; the institution’s income per one research scholar; infrastructure. Educational institutions unable to overcome the threshold value by 4 parameters out of the main 5 were acknowledged inefficient, RIA “Novosti reports.  

The future of such institutions will be defined after an additional inspection. Bad indexes will not necessarily become the reason to close an educational institution: in many ways it will depend on its significance for the region on the whole, “Gazeta.ru” quotes Head of Rosobrnadzor Lubov Glebova.
