"Civilitas" Foundation: 13,000 signatures collected in support of Vardan Oskanyan

13,000 signatures from 65 countries were collected in support of Vardan Oskanyan, the founder of the "Civilitas" Foundation, ex-Foreign Minister of Armenia. This was reported by representatives of the Foundation at the march, held on October 19 in Yerevan.

The criminal case on signs of money laundering was instituted against Vardan Oskanyan, the founder of the "Civilitas" Foundation, the deputy of the faction "Prosperous Armenia" Party (PAP). On October 7-17, the "Civilitas" Foundation collected signatures in support of Vardan Oskanyan.

During the march, staff members of the "Civilitas" Foundation handed out to passers-by the leaflets with the text of the letter, sent to Agvan Ovsepyan, General Prosecutor, about the criminal case against Vardan Oskanyan and the chronology of events, related to the case.

Tatevik Gazaryan, a journalist of the "CivilNet" Internet TV Channel, has explained that many citizens do not know the core of the case against Vardan Oskanyan. According to her, the action allows people to become better acquainted with the Vardan Oskanyan's case. "At the same time, we encourage people to join us," she said.

"The Vardan Oskanyan's case should be thought over not only by the staff members of the Foundation, founded by him, but by every citizen of Armenia, since the freedom of speech is violated there. Many people may not support Vardan Oskanyan; however, the activities of the 'Civilitas' Foundation and the 'CivilNet' TV Channel should not arise their suspicions," Tatevik Gazaryan has emphasized.

According to her, the Foundation works as usual, without any problems and obstacles.
