In Ingushetia, court arrested oppositionist Magomed Khazbiev for 15 days

Today, the Nazran District Court held a session to consider the case against Magomed Khazbiev, an Ingush oppositionist. According to the court, Magomed Khazbiev was arrested for 15 days for an administrative offense.

The "Caucasian Knot" reported that, according to the law enforcement agencies, at night on September 1, in the territory of the clinical hospital, located in Nazran, a group of five persons, including brothers of Magomed Khazbiev, from hooliganism motives blocked an official Lada-Priora car with police officers, who were conducting operative and search operations.

"The above persons did not respond to the words of the police officers, expressed gross obscenities and began to render resistance to the police officers. All the young people were brought to the Department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) in the city of Nazran. Their accomplices Magomed Khazbiev and Ilez Nalgiev (a figurant of the case on torture at the Ingush MIA, note of the "Caucasian Knot"), fled the place," explained the representative of the press service of the Ingush MIA.

Magomed Khazbiev was brought to responsibility for an administrative offense. He was sentenced to penalty in the form of 15-day arrest. However, the court session did not announce the decision on his arrest. It was read out at the building of the Nazran GOVD (City Interior Division), where Magomed Khazbiev was delivered, being accompanied by enhanced guard, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Magomed Khazbiev that on October 18, there was a confrontation between the defendant and the staff member of the Centre to Combat Extremism of the Nazran GOVD, who completed the protocol. "I was presented there as almost an organizer of riots at the hospital yard, occurred on September 1, who tried to turn over the cars. At the confrontation, the man, who completed the protocol, said that he saw me for the first time. However, the court did not take note of his statement," Magomed Khazbiev stated.

"This arrest of Magomed Khazbiev is more of daunting nature," emphasized Idris Abadiev, Chairman of the "Mekhk-Kkhel" (People's Parliament). He has expressed the opinion that the court was under pressure.
