Dagestani resident claims being persecuted by police officers

Abdulnasyr Ramazanov, a resident of the village of Chernyaevka of the Kizlyar District, complains that he is being persecuted by staff members of the OVD (Interior District) of the Kizlyar District, led by Sergey Inozemtsev, Chief of criminal police. In their turn, officials from the press service of the Dagestani Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) have reported that scheduled work is underway.

"On October 13, the police officers, led by Sergey Inozemtsev, came to my house. He told me that he gave me a week to disappear from the Kizlyar District. I asked: 'Where I should go?' The Chief of the criminal police answered: 'Go to your people.' He also said and that he did not care where I should go," Abdulnasyr Ramazanov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. According to the man, he has heard threats in his address that if he does not leave the place, something illegal will be planted to him and he "will be jailed for a long time" or someone will make him to disappear.

Abdulnasyr Ramazanov also said that the incident was not the first one.

"Earlier, I was repeatedly visited by law enforcement officials because of my brother, who, being systematically persecuted by the police, joined militants. My brother is dead, he was killed two years ago; however, they do not leave me alone," the man has noted.

According to Vyacheslav Gasanov, Spokesperson of the Dagestani MIA, everything goes in accordance with the law. "The police officers simply have to keep under the control such people like Ramazanov. They just visit him and talk to him, and no one voiced any threats in his address," he has emphasized.
