ICRF checks information on preparation of terror acts by oppositionist Sergey Udaltsov and Georgian MP Givi Targamadze

A criminal case was instituted against Sergey Udaltsov, the coordinator of the "Left-Wing Front", and he was charged of the preparation of the mass riots. The reason for institution of the proceedings has been the film "Anatomy of Protest-2", which provides information about the meeting of the oppositionist and Georgian MP Givi Targamadze, who discussed the question of preparing terror acts in the territory of Russia.

Investigators did not reveal any signs of edition in film video materials

Investigators conducted a phonoscopic study of video materials of the film, which was broadcasted by the NTV Channel on October 5, and they did not reveal any signs of edition. According to the Investigatory Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), the voice in the video film belongs to Sergey Udaltsov, and the meeting was held in late June 2012 in the capital of Belarus.

The meeting was attended by Givi Targamadze, Chairman of the Georgian Parliamentary Committee on Defence and Security, Mikhail Iashvili, Consul of Georgia to Moldova, and three their assistants. Besides, the meeting was attended by Sergey Udaltsov, his assistant Konstantin Lebedev, Leonid Razvozzhaev, the assistant of Ilya Ponomaryov, the deputy of the Russian State Duma. The criminal case against Sergey Udaltsov, Leonid Razvozzhaev, Konstantin Lebedev and other persons was instituted under Part 1 of Article 30 and Part 1 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation preparation for organization of mass riots.

According to Igor Giorgadze, the leader of the Georgian Party "Justice", Givi Targamadze is known in the criminal world as "Vasilich", and he is one of the confidants of Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili, the "Vesti" reports. "He was appointed by Mikhail Saakashvili to be a communicator with militants, with killers, with criminals, and with wealthy Georgians, living abroad. This is a one part of his duties," Igor Giorgadze stated. According to him, Givi Targamadze is also known as a person, associated with export of colour revolutions.

Sergey Udaltsov: I do not know Givi Targamadze

Sergey Udaltsov, the coordinator of the "Left-Wing Front", called the film "a rude falsification". During the conversation with investigators, held last week, Sergey Udaltsov confirmed the fact of his contacts in summer of 2012 with undisclosed citizens of Georgia, one of whom he called Georgy Vasilyevich, the "Gazeta.ru" reports with reference to the ICRF. At that time, according to Sergey Udaltsov, he was looking for legal funding for the "Left-Wing Front".

"Once again, I stress I have clearly told the investigator and that was recorded that I do not know a man named Givi Targamadze. I am not familiar with him, and I never met him," the "Vesti" quotes Sergey Udaltsov as saying.

Today, searches are being conducted at places of members of the Russian opposition, figurants of the case. Violetta Volkova, the lawyer of Sergey Udaltsov, said that he called her early in the morning and said that investigators came to him, and then the connection was lost, the "Live News" reports.

"The searches are being conducted both at his rented apartment and at his parents' apartment," Violetta Volkova said. According to her, undoubtedly, "all those allegations are false."

Givi Targamadze: "NTV" is "Putin's pocket TV Channel"

Givi Targamadze also denies his acquaintance with Sergey Udaltsov. "In the struggle between Putin and the opposition, my sympathies are clearly on the side of the latter. If I had the opportunity, I would be delighted to meet representatives of the opposition, including Sergey Udaltsov. Especially, if to take into account the fact that our party has recently moved to the opposition, and we will have the experience of being in opposition," the "New Newspaper" quotes Givi Targamadze as saying.

According to him, the "NTV" TV Channel is "a Putin's pocket TV Channel." "I do not know who speaks for them with their voices. I believe it is propaganda, long known to us," Givi Targamadze said.
