In Krasnodar, participants of "funeral of fair elections" detained

In Krasnodar, during the symbolic action of funeral of honest and fair elections, three men were detained Alexei Mandrigelya, ex-candidate for deputy to the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnodar Territory from the "Yabloko" Party and Anna Mikhailova and Victoria Zolotaryova, activists of the Regional Branch of the "Yabloko" Party.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that this evening, about 20 persons gathered to bring to the building of the regional administration a funeral wreath, which would symbolize funeral of honest and fair elections in the Krasnodar Territory. However, the activists were stopped by police and Cossacks.

According to Alexander Papanov, Deputy Chief of the Krasnodar UVD (Interior Department), protocols of administrative offences under Article 20.2 and Article 19.3 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation will completed against the detainees. At present, about 30 civil society activists and more than 20 police officers gathered near the police station.

The scene in front of the regional administration building was observed by Vladimir Svezhenets, Chief of Internal Policy Department, and Svetlana Rubashkina, Chief of the Department of Public Relations.
