Victim in case on terror act at "Domodedovo" Airport files lawsuit for 10 million roubles

Dmitry Burykin, one of the victims of the terror act, which was committed at the Moscow "Domodedovo" Airport on January 24, 2011, filed a lawsuit to oblige the defendants to pay him 10 million roubles for moral damages.

The "Caucasian Knot" reported that the terror act, which was committed at the Moscow "Domodedovo" International Airport on January 24, 2011, killed 37 persons. The responsibility for organizing the terror act was claimed by Dokku Umarov, the leader of North-Caucasian militants. Brothers Islam and Ilez Yandiev, Akhmed Evloev, and Bashir Khamkhoev were charged in the case on the terror act at the "Domodedovo" Airport.

During questioning at the today's court session, Dmitry Burykin explained that he filed the civil lawsuit against the defendants. "As a result of the terror act, I got multiple blind and perforating shrapnel wounds to my head, arms, and legs. I request to collect from the defendants the money in the amount of 10 million roubles for the expense of moral damage, caused to me," the "Interfax" quotes Dmitry Burykin as saying.

Let us remind you that on August 20, the preliminary court hearing in the case decided to hold the trial behind closed doors. Vladimir Kocharyan and Tatiana Okushko, the lawyers of the two defendants, stated that they intended to challenge the decision on holding the trial behind closed doors. On October 2, the Moscow Regional Court decided to continue the consideration of the case on the terror act at the "Domodedovo" Airport in public.

"At the first preliminary court session, we challenged the decision of the Supreme Court about holding the trial behind closed doors. At that time, our motion was dismissed. Then, we filed an appeal against the closed court session. The Supreme Court did not consider the appeal on cassation procedure," said Vladimir Kocharyan, the lawyer of Ilez Yandiev.

According to him, surprisingly for the lawyers and defendants, the Court itself pronounced the decision on public nature of the judicial regime, despite the fact that the prosecutor opposed the decision.

According to Tatiana Okushko, the lawyer of the defendant Bashir Khamkhoev, the court session of the Supreme Court will be public, and the court session will be held behind closed doors only when the two volumes under the label "confidentially" are considered.
