Yunus-Bek Evkurov: Ingushetia not to make concessions in delineation of borders with Chechnya

Yunus-Bek Evkurov, the leader of Ingushetia, refuted reports on consolidation 5,000 hectares of agricultural land in the Sunzha District, which is under dispute with Chechnya, to the Chechen Republic.

Earlier, representatives of the Ministry of Property and Land Relations of Chechnya stated that more than 15,000 hectares of land, including 5000 hectares in the Sunzha District, were consolidated as part of the republic, addressing the issue of the administrative border of Chechnya.

"Being the leader of the republic, I declare that we will not make any concessions on the definition of the border with Chechnya. The current borders will remain in future," said Yunus-Bek Evkurov on September 28 at the meeting with representatives of political parties, public associations, human rights organizations, youth unions, and the clergy of the republic.

The leader of Ingushetia has emphasized that the Chechen people never demanded land from Ingushetia. "The statements of some officials are not the opinion of the Chechen people," Yunus-Bek Evkurov has stated.

Meanwhile, the leader of Ingushetia called on the audience to very cautiously approach the solution of such problems.

"We cannot excite people," Yunus-Bek Evkurov has stressed.

The Ingush blogosphere reacted on the border disputes between the republics by starting a flash mob in social networks "Let's present Ingush land to Dukvakh Abdurakhmanov!"

On September 26, Mussa Bekmurziev, a blogger from Ingushetia, published a proposal according to him, it was a joke a call to send packages with Ingush land to Dukvakh Abdurakhmanov, Speaker of the Chechen Parliament. The initiative, which, according to Mussa Bekmurziev, did claim to be a large-scale action, was picked up by blog readers.

A source at the Federal State Unitary Enterprise (FSUE) "Russian Post" in Ingushetia has reported that for three days already, local residents come to the post office and order sending parcels to neighbouring Chechnya.
