Head of Transportation Department in Krasnodar region suspected of abuse of authority

Head of Transportation Department of Krasnodar region is suspected of abuse of authority during performing managing functions in a commercial organization as a result of which the region lost 25 million rubles, Press Service of regional Investigation Department of Committee of Inquiry of Russia (CIR) reported.

According to web-site of Transportation Department, this official is Dmitry Pugachev. A source in law enforcement bodies confirmed to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that it is him.

Section for investigation of cases of particular importance of Investigation Department of CIR in Krasnodar region initiated a criminal case against Pugachev according to part 1, clause 201 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation which stipulates maximum penalty of up to four years custody term.

In 2007 Dmitry Pugachev held the office of Deputy Head of Transportation Department and was concurrently Chairman of Board of Directors of "Belorechenskoye passenger motor transport enterprise" public corporation hundred per cent belonging to the Administration of Krasnodar region.

The investigation considers that Head of the Department wishing to get material benefits from General Director of "Belorechenskoye" enterprise endorsed sale of production base of the enterprise. The investigators also established that the official took measures aimed at unjustified realization of realty appreciably under cost.

The question of preventive punishment concerning the suspect is currently under consideration, Press Service of the office informed.
