The police in Rostov region successfully prevented a mass scuffle

On September, 13, policemen in the settlement of Remontnoye prevented a collision among several tens people who gathered in the square near the market in order to stick up for their friends.

The Ministry of Interior Affairs of the Russian Federation reports that at 9:00 an operative information came to the standby unit of "Remontny" inter-district Department of Ministry of Interior Affairs of Russia about a spontaneous gathering of citizens in the settlement of Remontnoye in the square in front of the market. Local police personnel and attached forces were sent to the scene.

According to preliminary data, the reason for the citizen's gathering with up to 50 participants was an incident in one of the rural cafes. A quarrel occurred between two local residents. As a result of the conflict, their friends stood up for them. However, there were no reports of the incident to the police, web-site of the Ministry reports.

Residents of the settlement are concerned about the situation. According to a local woman, the conflict between local residents and natives of the Caucasus has lasted already several years.

"On September, 12, there was knifing between a group of Russians and Chechens and today we heard shooting. There are rumors in the settlement that some special regime is enacted and nobody is let in or out. For a long time we have appealed to local authorities asking to solve the conflict situation between local residents and relatives of the Chechens residing here who come to the settlement. The authorities reply that measures are being taken but there are no changes. We will appeal to federal mass media for help", resident of Remontnoye Maria said to "Yuzhny Region" business information agency on the phone.

The conflict of September, 13, was successfully settled. Head of regional Administration and other representatives of the authorities had a meeting with representatives of the conflicting parties.

The Don Cossacks also wish to help solve the conflict. Ataman of the Great Don Army Vasily Litvinov is going to visit the scene of emergency on September, 14. According to him, nobody objects against the Caucasian migrants' coming and living here but they should respect the laws and our moral standards, "Novaya Gazeta" writes.

The police are going on guarding public order. An inquiry on the circumstances of the conflict is also in process. The respective procedural decision will be taken upon its results, "Don-TR" reports.
