Large-scale actions devoted to the Day of Republic passed off in Chechnya

Celebrations devoted to the Day of Republic also known as Day of civic accord and unity passed off in Chechnya. The celebrations in Grozny ended with picturesque fireworks.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" reported that celebrations of the Day of Republic on September, 6, started since 2002.

The main actions timed to the Day of Republic were held in the afternoon of September, 6, in the sports stadium of Grozny named after Bilimhanov (former "Dinamo" stadium - note by the "Caucasian Knot"). A concert was organized there with the participation of stars of local stage and republican actors' companies. The actions started with a mass procession in the center of Grozny.

The celebration ended with fireworks.

By estimation of law enforcement bodies, several tens thousand people took part in the festive actions in the capital of Chechnya. "Celebrations of the Day of Republic passed off in a calm atmosphere. No incidents were registered in the areas of mass actions and street festivities were registered", a representative of the Ministry of Interior Affairs of Chechnya informed.
