Ukraine: after July 18 Osmaev's advocates are not admitted to the client, his relatives assert

The advocates of Adam Osmaev, who is under arrest in Ukraine as the main suspect in the case on preparing a terror act against the President of the Russian Federation, is, cannot meet their client after July 18, Amina Okueva, Osmaev's common-law wife, said today.

Let us remind you that on February 4, in Odessa, the Ukrainian Security Service (known as SBU) detained Adam Osmaev, who had been put by the Russian FSB on the international wanted list as a suspect of preparing terror acts. On February 27, it was reported about prevention of an attempt on Vladimir Putin prepared by militants from Northern Caucasus. In April, the Lefortovo Court of Moscow issued an arrest order in absentia on Osmaev and a Kazakhstan citizen Ilya Pyanzin. On August 14, the Appeal Court of the Odessa Region decided to extradite Adam Osmaev to Russia.

According to Amina Okueva, currently the defence tries to get prosecutors' permit to visit Osmaev.

She also said that the issue of Adam Osmaev's reception of political asylum in Georgia or Finland is still open. "There's no new information on this issue," the "Interfax" quotes Ms Okueva as saying.

Now the case of Adam Osmaev, accused of plotting an attempt on President Putin, is under supervision of human rights defenders, said the Association of Russian Lawyers.

According to the advocate Evgeny Arkhipov, the public control and the attention to the case allow journalists to directly communicate with the relatives of the accused persons, give objective assessments of the case "on an attempt on Putin", study the materials of the case and make new facts public, the "Evening Moscow" writes.
