In Dagestan, at closing the car marketplace, policemen opened fire in the air

Today, in the territory of the car marketplace located on the Makhachkala-Kaspiysk highway, which is closed by the order of the Mayoralty of Makhachkala, a minor scuffle burst out between traders and law enforcers. It ended with shooting in the air from policemen's service firearms, one of the traders Magomedrasul Aliev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"This morning special transport means were brought to the marketplace; without any explanations, they began loading our container with goods onto the trucks. Naturally, traders were indignant; they resisted the process; the police intervened, but it only made the matters worse: someone began pushing the police; in the end, they opened fire in the air," the trader Aliev said today.

According to his story, then "all calmed down; a delegation of traders had a meeting with officials of the administration of Makhachkala." "We managed to agree that traders will themselves take the goods out before September 3," said the source.

"We had a meeting with German Ragimkhanov, Deputy Mayor of Makhachkala. He said that the marketplace was closed at the request of its director, which had applied for it two months ago. But the director said nothing to us; he carefully collected money from us; now, we can't find him," said Magomedrasul Ismailov, one of the participants in the meeting with the officials.

He said that he paid every month more than 3000 roubles for each container to the administration of the car marketplace; and there are a total of over 300 containers there.

The director was unavailable for comments; in his turn, Zalumkhan Sadulaev, the head of the administration of the Lenin District of Makhachkala said that everything was done according to the law.

"There was a need to expand the highway; therefore, two months ago a legal decision was made to close the marketplace. Besides, it is not closing; they are asked to move their outlets to a new place," he explained.
