Fifteen kids hospitalized from summer camp "Orlyonok" near Tuapse

15 children, vacationing in All-Russian Children's Centre "Orlyonok" (Eaglet) in the Tuapse District of the Krasnodar Territory, were hospitalized with symptoms of respiratory infection.

At night of August 24-25, children complained about pain and sore throat, malaise, weakness, headache, diarrhoea, nausea, and vomiting.

15 children were preliminary diagnosed with "acute respiratory infection with intestinal syndrome". The children were brought to a hospital at the "Orlyonok". Four patients suffer the disease in moderate and severe form, the remaining 11 children in mild form.

The camp managers associate the children's disease with excursions and guided tours, conducted on August 22-24, the website of the Children's Centre "Orlyonok" reports.

On that fact, the regional service of the "Rospotrebnadzor" (Russian Federal Agency for Consumer Supervision) together with the health care authorities conducts a number of preventive and therapeutic measures surveying of facilities, sampling of food products, water, and examining of personnel, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
