Dagestan starts trial against persons, surrendered under guarantees of commission for militants' adaptation

The Supreme Court of Dagestan started the trial against seven residents of the republic, who earlier surrendered under guarantees of the President of Dagestan and the commission to assist in adaptation to civilian life of persons, who decided to stop their terrorist and extremist activities.

A 23-year-old Gasan Kurabekov claimed his repentance and the desire to appear in front of the investigatory authorities in the hope of leniency for the voluntary withdrawal from "forest". On December 13, he voluntarily went to Rizvan Kurbanov, Chairman of the commission, and First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic's Government.

In the course of the special operation, conducted on October 14, 2011, in the village of Novy Posyolok in Makhachkala, two militants surrendered to the authorities after negotiations. According to the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC), the surrendered militants were Nariman Mirzamagomedov, a 41-year-old leader of the "Derbent" armed grouping, and Telman Gadjimustafaev, a 24-year-old active member of that grouping.

On August 26, 2011, in Derbent, Zaur Makhmudov, born in 1979, and Farid Takhmezov, born in 1990, surrendered to the authorities.

According to law enforcement agents, on June 5, 2011, an 18-year-old Temirlan Amirov, being a member of the illegal armed formations (IAFs), shelled from a submachine gun the building of the local police station in the village of Mamedkala. No one suffered, the premises were damaged. At the time, when Temirlan Amirov was "in the forest", and his mother contacted the commission on adaptation and asked them to help to bring her son back. On November 11, 2011, Temirlan Amirov surrendered to law enforcement agencies.

On September 22, in the city of Dagestanskie Ogni, Arsen Isaev with other members of illegal armed formations (IAFs) on a "gifted" car shelled from a submachine gun the building of the local ROVD (District Interior Division). Besides, he has confessed attempting on a district police inspector.
