Russian doctors in mobile teams examine residents of Abkhazia

During more than two weeks, Russian brigades, equipped with all-terrain vehicles, necessary supplies and medical equipment for conducting radiation and laboratory examinations, ultrasound and electrocardiogram, carried out clinical examination of the population of the Gali District of Abkhazia. At present, the mobile transport hospital is deployed in the town of Ochamchira and it already conducts there the examination of patients; and in September, it will go to the town of Tkuarchal.

The residents of the Gali District were examined by cardiologist, internist, otolaryngologist, surgeon, gynaecologist, and endocrinologist. Fluorography of adults and children over 14 years was mandatory for clinical examination. Residents of remote villages, who had no possibility to be examined at the main point, also received medical assistance. They were visited by special transport teams of the same composition, as at the very hospital.

The mobile transport hospital, deployed on the base of the Gali District Hospital, was open from 9:00 a.m. till late evening. According to Alexander Zharozinov, Senior Doctor of the hospital, every day, about 250-300 persons were examined, and on weekends, their number reached 450.

According to Ketevan Giolendia, the mobile transport hospital gave residents of the Gali District of Abkhazia a possibility to obtain competent information about their health state and medical care, said. "My child had serious health problems, and I am grateful for the assistance of Russian doctors," the woman said.

Iliko Bechvaya, a local resident, has also noted that the residents of the Gali District need such an action. "For three years, I try to get to doctors, although I am not worried about anything specific. And each trip to the high quality experts raises my spirits," the man said.
