MIA: attack on "Anji" FC fans was not interethnic

The attack on the fans of the "Anji" FC, which occurred on August 22 in Moscow Avenue near the "McDonald's" Cafe in Saint Petersburg, is not of interethnic nature. This was reported by the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) in Saint Petersburg and the Leningrad Region.

According to eyewitnesses, in the evening of August 22, the fans of the "Anji" FC, who lived in Saint Petersburg, gathered near the metro station "Moskovskaya" to go to Moscow to visit the upcoming match. When the bus arrived, a group of young people ran from neighbouring yards and started beating the fans of the Makhachkala FC.

On the basis of suddenly arisen personal aversions, a group of 25-30 persons beat 3 natives of the North Caucasian region, who were brought to hospital with various injuries. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by a MIA representative.

Police officers detained six participants of the fight, and all of them were residents of Saint Petersburg. At the moment, two out of the six detainees are released from the police department.

According to the source, at present, no signs of ethnic hatred are found in the conflict.
