In Krasnodar, activists of "Left-Wing Front" hold pickets in support of "Pussy Riot"

In Krasnodar, near two Orthodox churches Cossack Army Cathedral of Alexander Nevsky and Saint George's Church activists of the "Left-Wing Front" held pickets in support of the band "Pussy Riot". Today, the court found members of the band guilty of hooliganism motivated by religious hatred for "punk prayer", performed in February in the Moscow's Cathedral of Christ the Saviour.

At about 1:00 p.m., Yulia Usach, a front woman of the Krasnodar band "StolzReich", stood in front of the Cathedral of Alexander Nevsky in front of the regional legislative assembly, and unfolded a poster a sheet of drawing paper with a felt-tip pen made inscription "Krasnodar for Secular Russia! Liberty to Victims of Inquisition!" and a picture of the members of the band in balaclava headwear, which became well-known.

Meanwhile, the Krasnodar activist also believes that the act of the punk band should be condemned, since it was "not a very nice event, and it might offend some people."

Dmitry Akhtenchukov, the activist of the "Left-Wing Front", the second participant of the picket, who replaced Yulia Usach, participated in the action "to express the indignation at the arrogance of the Russian Orthodox Church, such semi-medieval processes that resemble the Inquisition."

"No reasonable person would go to another people's monastery with his or her own rules!" an elderly female resident of Krasnodar, who passed by, expressed her indignation at the picket. She continued: "Let them make performances in their own apartment or build their own building to sing in."

However, other Krasnodar residents expressed their sympathy to the action they greeted the participants of the action by honking from passing-by cars and took pictures on the cameras of their mobile phones. At the first and the second venues of the action, police officers did not even approach the picketers. In total, the action lasted about 1.5 hours.
