Alexander Cherkasov: problem of armed underground remains unsolved in Chechnya

Ramzan Kadyrov, the leader of Chechnya, was too eager in criticizing Yunus-Bek Evkurov, the leader of Ingushetia. This was stated by Alexander Cherkasov, Chairman of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial". Musa Muradov, a correspondent of the newspaper "Kommersant", believes that the terror act in Grozny, committed on August 6, should not be associated with the words of the Chechen leader.

"In 2-3 days after Chechen power agents reported that during the special operation, conducted in the village of Galashki of the Sunzha District of Ingushetia, they had eliminated people, who were allegedly involved in organizing the attack on Tsentoroi in 2010, and in that regard, Kadyrov criticized Evkurov that the leader of Ingushetia allegedly cannot maintain the order in his own republic, a large-scale terror act occurred in Grozny. What does that mean? Well, it seems to mean that Kadyrov was a little bit too eager in his statements. That means that the problem in Chechnya has not been solved," believes Alexander Cherkasov, Chairman of the Board of the Human Rights Centre "Memorial".

Musa Muradov, the correspondent of the newspaper "Kommersant", believes that the statements of Ramzan Kadyrov in regard of Yunus-Bek Evkurov should not be combines in an information background with the terror act, which occurred in Grozny.

"In Galashki, the special operation eliminated the militants, who were involved in the attack on the dwelling settlement of Tsentoroi, committed two years ago. Then, there were disagreements between the authorities of Chechnya and Ingushetia, related to the circumstances of the elimination of militants. Those disagreements were disseminated by information resources. However, the events that occurred later in Grozny, where an explosion occurred in the October District opposite the store "Voentorg", is not related to the story of Galashki," Musa Muradov has explained.

According to him, Grozny did not face similar incidents for rather long time. "To be more precise, a year ago, on August 30, Chechen policemen were attacked; however, that incident was followed by a peaceful year," Musa Muradov has emphasized.
