Council of Imams of Khasavyurt appeals to Dagestani Muslims with request to stop killing innocent people

The Council of Imams of Khasavyurt has called for stopping killings in Dagestan, which are committed with religious motives, and claimed that Islam treats a killing of an innocent soul as the second major sin.

"Every day, we witness someone else's blood spilled. We are so used to the terrible crime that we perceive it as a something normal, and we express our indignation only when the trouble concerns our close family member or our friend. However, there is no someone else's misfortune, the trouble is common. Tomorrow, any one of us may be killed, if not maliciously, then by rebounding bullet or by a fragment of a bomb," states the text of the appeal of Imams of Khasavyurt, which was disseminated on August 8.

The authors of the appeal note that the Imams are indignant about the fact that killings of completely innocent people are often hidden by the Islamic terminology. "A killing of an innocent soul is the second major sin in Islam after kufr (disbelief, note of the "Caucasian Knot"). However, if such a killing is committed by a person, knowing that it is permitted to him, then such a person, in accordance with the unanimous opinion of the Alims, will cease to be a Muslim.

"We call on all Imams of mosques, people, who have the power, all Muslims of Dagestan to do everything possible to stop those crimes and to put a reliable barrier against the senseless killings," says the appeal of the Imams of Khasavyurt to all Dagestani residents.
