Persons, killed in special operation in territory of Ingush State University, rendered no resistance, their relatives assert

Relatives of Islam Tachiev and Magomed Khayauri, killed in the special operation in the village of Ordzhonikidzevskaya of the Sunzha District, claim that young people did not render any armed resistance and that they were shot and killed by power agents without warning. The family members of the killed persons have appealed to human rights organizations, and they intend to achieve an objective investigation and posthumous rehabilitation of their children.

On July 28, in the course of the special operation in the village of Ordzhonikidzevskaya, Arthur Karsamauli, born in 1986, Magomed Khayauri, born in 1991, and Islam Tachiev, born in 1992, were killed.

According to the relatives of Islam Tachiev and Magomed Khayauri, who on August 6 filed complaints to the representative office of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" in Nazran, on July 28, Islam, Magomed, and Arthur went to the mosque for night prayer and stopped on their way in the courtyard of the University. At about 10:00 p.m., power agents broke into the yard and opened aimed fire to young people. "Witnesses told the family members that after the shelling of the young people, the power agents dressed them in camouflage, put weapons next to them and made photo and video records," reports the statement of the HRC "Memorial".

On July 29, the parents of the killed persons went to take the bodies for burials; however, they received the bodies of their children only after signing the waivers of claims against law enforcement agencies.

According to their relatives, Magomed Khayauri and Islam Tachiev had not been at home in Ingushetia for nearly a year; they studied at the Moscow institutions of higher education, and they came home on the day prior to their murder. Arthur Karsamauli, the third killed person, also graduated from a Moscow institution of higher education and returned home to get a job.

The website of the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC) still states that in the territory of the Ingush State University "three bandits were neutralized in the course of a clash."
